This is the most powerful mindbody tool I know for immediate relief.
Whether your anxiety is sky-high, you are in real physical or emotional pain or just feeling roughed up by life — tapping is a resource you have with you. (I’ve been known to sneak to the bathroom to tap when I’m out in the world and feel the stress building.)
Here are two how-to videos to get you started. It is easy, there are 9 acupressure points on the head and upper chest. You tap lightly on each point as you describe what is going on. Start with what is hard and be specific i.e. “I have this pain and pressure behind my left eye and am afraid my whole day will be ruined because of this headache…” Then engage in some conscious complaining — letting yourself name what you are struggling with like you are talking to a good friend and as you do continue to tap through the points. It can help to rate the intensity of the pain or stress on a 0-10 scale before you begin. After you find some relief you can tap in some positive phrases.
