This week I was talking with a long-term client who has made a shift from working in an office to working at home. She noticed that it is still totally possible (even when enjoying other pleasures like joining conference calls in her yoga pants) to stay super glued to her desk and not even leave it for lunch. “What happened to my daily mini siesta or the walk with my dog I had envisioned?” she wondered. Sound familiar? Shifting our relationship to time is mostly an interior process. On my journey to create a schedule I genuinely enjoy with time for my priories (writing, clients, my family, rest, learning and play) as well as teaching these techniques to busy women over the past seven years, I have learned some important tips which I’ll be sharing with you this month in a new blog series: From Squished to Spacious– How to Create a Schedule You Love. Tip One: Put the Fun Stuff On Your Calendar. This is simple but so powerful. I invite you to check in on this — open up your calendar and take a peek at next week. Does it include only meetings and appointments? What about fun stuff? Your favorite yoga class or other body care? Date night with your sweety? What about those unique things which aren’t a special occasion per se, but just make you happy because they fit you so well? For me this is the Tuesday night farmers market. I have it on my calendar. And I treasure the walk up there, chatting with the vendors, and filling my backpack with leafy greens and alpaca wool mittens. If we only put the “have tos” on our calendar it can almost make you dread opening it up. Sprinkle in the good stuff as well. Write it down. Make it Real. And let me know how it goes! Warmly, Courtney PS In January I am hosting Flourish LIVE at Sugar Beach in Costa Rica and have two remaining spots! This retreat is included as a bonus for women who are part of my Flourish Formula Coaching program. If you have been thinking you would really enjoy 2019 BY DESIGN rather than reacting to what life throws at you, this is a beautiful time to join. Book a call with me here to talk more. xo Courtney
